A Dinner Guest's Eye View of an Edible Landscape

This dinner was a great success! We had a small gathering with some new faces. I admit I was nervous having a dinner at my house, but it all worked out well. The comfort foods brought were delicious. We had roasted duck, fresh bean and corn chowder, chicken and dumplings, sweet potato and apple pie, pecan pie, gingerbread with lemon curd, ginger snap cookies, and mulled apple cider. Yum.

We had a great time getting to know each other. We will definitely be doing this again next year but this time when there is daylight so people can see our edible landscaping. There are also other volunteers that would like to host a dinner, so 2008 is looking promising.

For those of you who receive the e-mails but have never attended a dinner, I want to encourage you to come to them. It is nice to take time to SLOW down from our hectic lives every now and then. None of us really *have* time, but it is important to make time for yourself. Although it is nice to support Slow Food by becoming a member, you do not have to be one to attend our dinners.  It’s just fun to meet new people, try new foods and get out of the house.

See you next time!
