Slow Food at the Sweet Grass Dairy Open House

Slow Food Tallahassee joined Sweet Grass Dairy to celebrate their Spring open house on a cool and windy April 29th. Many new friends
were made and long time pals Turkey Hill Farm and Zebra Truck Farm and Full Circle Farm were there too. Many, many interested folks and farmers stopped by our information table to chat about their experiences with growing foods and their concerns over the
industrialization of foods now. Several people expressed interest in free range, natural poultry and we did our best to point them in the
right directions. Recipes were shared and lots of talk of "how things used to be" in terms of food production.

All the volunteers with Slow Food Tallahassee (Rob, Courtney, Kele, Lela, Claire and Carson Leigh) agreed that this is such a positive
movement we have brought to our area. There is so much good going on and our convivia provides a clearing house for that information. We also show through example the art of slowing down and enjoying a great meal with great friends. I hope you will take the time to join us soon and give your talents and resources to changing the way we think about food to a more sustainable, local and seasonal way.

Thank you Sweet Grass Dairy for a wonderful open farm day!
